Stuffed bread

Ingredients

  • The Farce:
    • 500 g minced meat (beef)
    • 2 large onions (finely chopped)
    • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
    • 1 tablespoon of mustard
    • 1 tablespoon tomato paste (optional, for color)
    • Spices: Black pepper, salt and broth powder.
    • A small bunch of chopped parsley.
    • 1 pepper (cut into small cubes).
  • Bread and Extras:
    • Fresh bread baguettes.
    • Mayonnaise and additional mustard (for spreading).
    • Optional: Hard-boiled eggs cut into rounds or fried inside.
  • Cooking oil: 2 to 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

Instructions

1. Cooking the meat base

Heat the oil in a pan. Add the ground meat and cook until it is no longer pink. Crush the large pieces with your spoon to obtain a uniform texture.

2. Adding aromatics and seasoning

Add the chopped onions and peppers to the meat. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent. Add the garlic, mustard, tomato paste, salt, pepper and broth.

3. Let the stuffing simmer

Add a tiny splash of water (about 60ml) just to help the flavors blend and create a thick, creamy sauce. Simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes until the water has evaporated and all that is left is a flavorful meat mixture. Add the fresh parsley at the very end.

4. Preparing the bread

Cut the baguette into sections and open them lengthwise. Spread a layer of mayonnaise and/or mustard inside.

5. Garnish and serve

Generously top the bread with the meat mixture. If you wish, add slices of hard-boiled egg or fries inside.

Pro Tip: For added crunch, you can press the filled sandwich in a panini maker or dry pan for 2 minutes until the bread is hot and crunchy.
